COVID-19 changed the training landscape overnight. The virus also compounded trauma in many communities. I have trained CASA Advocates, CPS Caseworkers, attorneys, teachers, child welfare leadership, churches and more. Let me provide customized virtual training solutions for your organization
Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. TBRI® uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles for attachment needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors. While the intervention is based on years of attachment, sensory processing, and neuroscience research, the heartbeat of TBRI® is connection.
Who is TBRI for?
TBRI® is designed for children from “hard places” such as abuse, neglect, and/or trauma. Because of their histories, it is often difficult for these children to trust the loving adults in their lives, which often results in perplexing behaviors. TBRI® offers practical tools for CASA Advocates, child welfare staff members, CPS caseworkers, attorneys, parents, caregivers, teachers, or anyone who works with children, to see the “whole child” in their care and help that child reach his highest potential.
Why Use TBRI?
Because of their histories, children from hard places have changes in their bodies, brains, behaviors, and belief systems. While a variety of parenting strategies may be successful in typical circumstances, children from hard places need care giving that meets their unique needs and addresses the whole child.
Use our curriculum to help those in your organization both understand and implement Trauma Informed Care. I can also design a curriculum tailored to the specific needs of your organization. I have expertise in designing micro learning which I refer to as "drip learning."
Let me train your group virtually about Trauma Informed Care. We will discuss, ACES, physiological changes that result from toxic stress, trauma and the resulting behaviors. I have trained attorneys, therapists, teachers, church leadership, volunteers & health care professionals. Your group will learn practical strategies to use as you work with those who have experienced trauma.
Are you interested in moving your organization in a Trauma Informed way? Let me help you design strategies for effective implementation in your setting.
